Mrs. Triana’s Ram Report

Happy October, Riker Hill Families!

We had a fantastic first full week of October! Thank you to Ms. Byrne for organizing our Week of Respect activities and to the HSA for supporting Walk, Bike, or Roll to School Day.

Congratulations to our Grades 4–5 students who participated in the Student Council elections! We are proud of everyone who stepped up to lead.

As we continue building our Ramily culture, we look forward to our first Ramily Pods next week, where we will strengthen connections and reinforce the values and expectations that help every student succeed.

A Small Change to Our Weekly News!

Beginning this week, our Ramily Weekly News will be shared on Fridays instead of Sunday evenings. Based on feedback, this change will give our Ramilies more time to review important updates and prepare for the week ahead. It will also help our office staff avoid potential technology issues over the weekend. Thank you for your feedback, flexibility, and continued support as we make small changes to better support our school community.

Celebrating Our Rams

Each week, our staff looks for classes demonstrating our Ramily Values—kindness, caring, respect, responsibility, friendliness, and safe choices.

Congratulations to this week’s shoutouts:

Mrs. Scheuplein/Bannon's 2nd grade class was so well-behaved during the fire drill on Tuesday. They showed respect by walking in and out of the building silently.

Students in Ms. Grecco's 5th grade homeroom worked hard on their projects and were very respectful to one another.

Way to go, Rams! We are so proud of you!

Ramily Tip for Home-Respectful Reads! 📚

This month, our Ramily Value is RESPECTFUL!

Reading together is a great way to help children understand respect, kindness, manners, and appreciating differences.

Check out this week’s book suggestions from Ms. Caruso for stories that encourage children to listen to others, consider different perspectives, and treat everyone with respect.

Try asking at home: “What did a character do to show respect?” or “How can we show respect when we disagree?”

Let’s keep the conversations going at home and school as we practice the Ramily Way!

Dismissal Parking and Safety Reminders
As a reminder, families may park in the back parking lot during dismissal. Please help us keep everyone safe by following these important guidelines:
  • No double parking. Please park in designated spaces only.
  • Keep accessible parking spaces available. These spaces are reserved for those with a valid handicap parking placard or license plate. Please be respectful of those who rely on these spaces.
  • Keep the dumpster area clear. Do not park near or block the dumpsters.
  • Keep the corner past the back lot clear. Buses need enough space to turn and pass safely.
  • Do not move cones. They are in place to help maintain safe traffic flow.
  • Follow staff directions. Mr. Randy may be stationed near the lot when parking is full to help direct traffic.
Our priority is the safety of all students, families, and staff. Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work together to ensure a safe and smooth dismissal for everyone!

Have additional questions? Check the Ramily Handbook! It is your go-to resource for procedures, expectations, and important information throughout the school year.
